Dear Bean:
You are really tiring me out these days. Or it could be that 3rd trimester exhaustion people have been talking about. But either way I'm just pooped! You kept me up last night. You just couldn't hold still long enough for me to get comfortable and fall asleep! This morning I woke up and you must have been curled up on my right side because my belly was completely lopsided. Daddy laughed, he thought it was funny. I guess I won't blame my lack of sleep all on you, it was partly the dogs as well. They were barking at the coyotes outside. I'm sure you know by now we have dogs...and a cat. You probably hear the dogs barking all the time and the cat squishes you when he lays on my belly. I'm sure you'll like them. Lola will take some time getting used to you and may be cranky at times with you, but we'll never let her hurt you. Buster on the other hand will always want to be in your face. Just let him kiss you and he'll be on his way. Triton the cat though, he's not so fond of little kids yet. The only one he's really met is your cousin Wyette and he usually throws toys at him or scares him. We'll teach you to be nice to him and I'm sure he'll love to snuggle up with you and be your friend! Oh and back to the coyotes outside....Well you will hear them when you get bigger. I'm sure as a little person they won't phase you, but as you get older and notice them and how close they are to our house you will get scared, and that's okay because they scare me too. We also have bears around our house. They're not so scary because they won't come close to us. They're actually kind of neat. Last summer I saw a mama and her 3 cubs and it was just sooo cute!
So the other day I had my first experience with Braxton Hicks contractions. Well it started on Monday this very uncomfortable cramping and I tried not to let it worry me and then the next day they started happening again. Well I looked it up on a trusty pregnancy website and sure enough that's what was going on. Luckily they subsided once I drank lots of water. I know they're normal to start happening around 6 months, but I didn't know if they were real contractions or just those Braxton Hicks. I've heard of people having preterm labor and I'm paranoid of it. I want you to stay in there until August. I don't want you born too early and struggling for your life. I want to go to the hospital when it's time, deliver you and then bring you home with us the next day or whenever it is they let me go home. I'm not leaving that hospital without you Bean.
Your Daddy and I have become quite the gardeners!! Daddy is growing 2 barrels of peas and I'm growing a barrel of green beans and a barrel of cucumbers. We'll probably have peas up the wazoo so I think I'll practice making baby food out of them. If it turns out, then I'll freeze it for you to have when we're ready. If you're anything like Daddy you will LOVE the peas. We also are growing some Iris's out front by the mailbox. They will come up every year, so maybe next summer you and I can go pick them to put on the table! Daddy and I have also planted you a tree. I ordered a Blue Spruce tree kit and we planted the seeds and we have 4 that have started to grow! So by the time you get here we will hopefully get to plant at least one outside for you!
Well Bean, that's all for now.
Love,
Mommy
