Wow

Dear Teagan:
So my fallout with your nana didn't quite go as smoothly as I anticipated. It ended up with some email exchanging, papa being mad at daddy and even Uncle Greg calling and yelling at daddy. It was so ridiculous. I just don't get why people can't just understand that you are our child which means you're our responsibility and you will follow our rules as will anyone that's caring for you! But anyway, daddy and you went over and talked to nana today and hopefully things will be better. I do still need to talk to her myself, but I just couldn't do it yet without flipping out again. I think I've had enough time to calm down by now though.

So last Friday we let you experiment with cantaloupe. It was great!! You loved it!!

We even got a video of you trying to eat it after you dropped it on your bib!

It was pretty funny and I think you really enjoyed the experience!
Another thing that happened last Friday was.....you fell off the couch....on to our hardwood floor!! Daddy's friend came over while I was still at work. And he wanted to see you, so they were hanging out playing with you and then daddy sat you in the corner of the couch with the back of the couch on one side of you and a pillow on the other side of you and he turned around and BAM you fell on the floor. He said it happened in a matter of like 10 seconds. He felt horrible. I has taken him a while to get over it and I still don't think he is. But, in all honesty, it won't be the last time you fall and hurt yourself!

The other night we also let you try avocados. I don't think you minded the taste, but the texture was too slippery and squishy for you I think. You kept trying to pick it up and it would just squish or slip right out of you hands. It was a huge mess. But it made for some cute pictures!

Feeding you is fun, and I get why nana wants to so badly, but she just made a very poor decision to feed you frosting. So for now her privileges have been taken away and she knows she is unable to feed you anything when she does get you alone again.
It sucks, but thats tough love.

And I love you sooooo much! To the moon and back!
Love,
Mommy

FROSTING?!?!?!

Dear Teagan:
Today your nana let you "taste" frosting. I don't think I've ever been so mad at anyone in my whole life. Daddy left you at Nana's for a few hours while he went to Ogdensburg to get some unemployment shenanigans straightened out. Well, when he came to get you, he was rinsing out your bottles and came back into the room and she was letting you have a taste and claimed you didn't even get any. Daddy said you had some on your lips though. So I was fuming mad. I called her up and told her the deal. I may have been a bit harsh, but I've let everything go that she's done with you that has bothered me, so I for once had to stand up for myself. Well, I ended up telling her you can't be alone with her anymore until I can trust her again. That made her really upset and she called daddy and was crying. I do feel bad that I made her cry, but then again I know if I hadn't said anything I would have regretted it. It was actually good too because I have been wanting to have a conversation about feeding you and just didn't know how to go about it.
So this was kind of a perfect situation. Although I'd rather you NOT have had frosting. I'm just trying to feed you the healthiest of foods. You have the rest of your life to eat crap, but for now, you will eat only healthy food! If you've never had junk before then you won't know the difference and you won't ever ask for it. So I want to keep it that way for as long as possible. Is that really so much to ask?!?!
Okay, time to get home.
I love you to the moon and back.
Love,
Mommy

You Love Food!

Dear Teagan:
I've been letting you try more and more foods and you are really loving them! After the banana incident we waiting about a week and then offered you pureed peaches....from a jar. *gasp* You loved them!

Then last week I called in because it was too snowy to go to work, and I was talking on the phone and eating chunks of fresh pineapple and you kept reaching for my fork. So I put a chunk on the fork and put it to your lips. You chomped right onto the pineapple and slid it off the fork. I was so scared you'd choke on it. So I dug my finger in your mouth and got it out. Then that night you got to try a sliced dill pickle. You were shocked by the taste at first, but then liked it and continued to suck on it.

This week we tried jarred pears (huge success) and then squash last night (another success) You were especially excited when I put it on the spoon and finally gave in to your grabbing for it.

This weekend we'll be trying avavado and cantaloupe. Hopefully you like feeding yourself whole foods. You like to feed yourself with a spoon and do a pretty good job of it.
We've been getting crazy amounts of snow. I think this is the most snow I've ever seen. I really am begining to wonder if it will ever snow less than 6 inches at a time again. We took you out to play in it before we got too much. You didn't really know what was going on, but you looked so stinkin' cute in your snowsuit!

Alright baby, time to get going home to see you!
I love you to the moon and back baby.
Love,
Mommy
