Dear Sprout:
Today I am 14 weeks and had a drs appointment. We got to hear your heartbeat with the Doppler. It was beating strong at 158 beats per minute. If I remember correctly, your brother's was always right around 150....so yours is higher. I'll have to double check that with his baby book though. Grandma says it's because you're a girl. As does Dani. They both would swear on it or put big bucks on it.
We have the chance to find out what you are on June 21, as that is when my anatomy scan is scheduled for. But we will decline to let them reveal it to us. It just bothers everyone so much that we don't want to find out. I love it though!
It seems like it's already going by so fast!
I mean the anatomy scan is done 1/2 way through the pregnancy, so in another 5-6ish weeks, we'll be 1/2 way there! It seems crazy!
My belly has really popped out this week. The past week it was buldging a little, but whoa! It really rounded out this week. This is exactly the same time it happened last time. I remember being between 13 & 14 weeks and one day it was like BAM! Big ole belly out there. It's cute for now though since I'm not super huge and its just a cute bump. I'm hoping to not gain as much weight this time around. We'll see how well that goes for me though.
Well, time to leave work and go get your brother.

Finally Feeling Better
Dear Sprout:
I'm 12 weeks and 1 day and I'm finally starting to feel better. I still have my days where I feel yucky in the morning or right before bed, but all in all, I can function like a normal human being.
My belly started to pop out this week. I'm trying my hardest to stay in normal clothes for as long as I can, but the thought of elastic comfiness is starting to consume me. Are yoga pants acceptable to wear everywhere? I mean people wear fleecey bunny pj pants out and about so surely yoga pants are okay, right?
We went for the ultrasound at 8 weeks and 4 days and you looked perfect. Of course you actually looked like a blob, but perfect to me! Your heartbeat was 153 and you were measuring right on track.
I went for my first OB appointment right at 10 weeks and they tried to find your heartbeat with the doppler but it was too early they said. So they just did an exam. Oh joy. I wasn't too worried about them not finding your heartbeat at that appointment. I checked my "Bump" book that I wrote in for your brother and I saw that they tried to find his right at 10 weeks as well and couldn't. So we'll wait another 2 weeks for my next appointment and hear it then!
Everyone is convinced that you are a girl. We'll see. I'm not convinced. But I really can't decided one way or another what you might be. A part of me thinks girl since things are so different, but then again another part of me says boy again just because. It's almost like now I can't really imagine having a baby girl.
In another 28 weeks or so we'll know!!
This time around it seems harder to not want to find out. But we won't. We'll wait for the surprise of our life.
