Dear Teagan and Vivian:
This summer has been wonderful. Busy, but wonderful nonetheless!
Memorial weekend we went camping for the night at Cedar Point. Viv had Hand, Foot, Mouth Disease or so we thought. Your feet were red and scaly and just an itchy mess and you were miserable for days. Finally I took you to the dr and they confirmed that it was indeed hand, foot, mouth disease, but it lingered for weeks after that.
Soccer was a disaster the entire season for Teagan. You would argue about going and tell me every week how you hated soccer. It didn't matter who came to watch or what team you played against. It was awful. You didn't try to go after the ball. I think you were intimidated by it or something. You would run the path that the ball traveled but refused to touch it. Once you did touch it and like tapped it into the goal and we made a HUGE deal about it and your response was "Can I be done with soccer now so we can go get some ice cream?" Next year I'm considering coaching and putting all your friends on my team and requesting whatever color shirt you want in hopes you'll like it better. I tricked you just the other night when we drove by the soccer field and told you we were going to play again...you didn't complain, just asked if you were on the red team this time. So we'll see.
Camping over the 4th of July was a blast as usual. Vivian was a bit of a beast. I think it just took some time to getting used to being outside and always on the go go go all day every day. But with the help of your aunts and grandma and everyone else we camp with, I was still able to enjoy myself despite your nonsense.
We also got rid of your binkies this summer Viv! You were down to really only having them in the car and during naps or nighttime. Well one evening I was getting your water cup ready to lay down ansd read a book before bed and I asked you if you wanted your binky and your response was "No. Moo moo" And I asked what about the moo moos and you said "Binky. Baby moo moo" So I asked if you gave it to the baby moo moos and you said yes. So that night you didn't have one and haven't had one since. That was July 16. Anytime you did ask we'd just tell you that you gave it to the baby moo moos and all was well. Until one day you found one. Then we had to literally go out back and throw it to the baby moo moo. Luckily you don't throw very far and I could reach in the fence and retrieve them before a cow did try to eat the darn thing.
Nana's wishes for Father's Day was to have a big cookout/family reunion with all of her family. Although she is no longer with us, her sister wanted to make it happen regardless because that's what she would have wanted. So we had a big family cookout at Poppy's house. It was a difficult day knowing Nana would have loved so much that it happened and she couldn't be there to enjoy it. That's one of the hardest things about her being gone...knowing how much she would have loved these things and appreciated them.
Well I've gotta go. To be continued since I missed posting all summer.
Love you to the moon and back babies.
Love,
Mommy
