Dear Teagan:
You are too grown up for my liking these days! Well, I guess it's bittersweet. I don't like to think about you growing up so fast, but then again, it's such an exciting time!
You keep progressing with the potty training. We even bought you some big boy underwear! We have Cars, Mickey & Thomas (choochoos). The first time wearing them I put them on you with just a tee shirt on and told you that you had to tell me if you had to go potty.
Well apparently you wanted to test what would happen if you peed in your underwear. But, you were smart enough to pee in a bucket. It was so funny. I found your squating over the bucket peeing through your underwear.
Then we sent the underwear to daycare. You went until naptime after lunch with only one accident! I was so proud. You're so smart and just love to learn!
You know all of you colors now and you're doing really good with shapes. You know red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple and brown. You get brown and black mixed up and you like to think that pink is just red. But either way, I think you are the smartest kid around!
Oh and you're such an outdoor boy! All you ever want to do is play outside.
Last week it was super duper warm out and we caught toads from the pond. They were sitting on top of the weeds and so easy to catch just sitting there. So you and I went out and played by the pond with Buster and caught so many toads! You didn't want to touch them, but you wanted me to get as many as I could then you wanted them to go back in the pond. It was fun. And of course with daddy all you want to do is "wide, wide" (ride the fourwheeler). Then it's a huge hassle to get you to come back inside. You scream and cry and throw a fit and stand at the door yelling to go outside. It's sad, but it gets old after a while.
You've begun to be quite the helper in the kitchen. I try to let you stand on a chair and help as much as possible to keep you from getting into things while I'm busy. It works and you seem to really enjoy it. We made a pie yesterday and I taught you to stick your finger in it to taste....that was probably a mistake. Now you want to stick your fingers in everything we're making or eating.
Easter Sunday you got your first real big booboo. It was so, so sad. You ran straight into the door while I was holding it open for you. You fell right down and was screaming so much. By the time I bent down and picked you up, your head was swelled right out and black and blue. It was horrible. I was so scared for you. I thought something was seriously wrong. But by bedtime the swelling was almost gone and you were good as new acting. I think you were just clumsy from all that Easter candy and no nap! That aught to teach you!
I love you to the moon and back, baby.
Love,
Mommy
