Dear Teagan:
The Tuesday before Thanksgiving we took you to your 15 month checkup. I was so nervous because at your 1 year visit Dr Swan said she wanted you walking by 15 months....and you weren't. But after telling her that you crawl up stairs, cruise along furniture, walk with a push toy and have taken a step or two here and there, she was okay with that. But then I told her about your one leg being a little wonky. A few people had pointed out to me that when you walk your left leg really turns out and you kind of kick your leg forward instead of step with it. So she checked your hips, and sure enough the left one was clicking again. So she ordered an X-ray. I was so nervous.
So we went and got your X-ray on a Friday. Then on Sunday we were at Callie's house makin Christmas cookies with everyone, and it was crazy with so many little kids runnin around. And you were so distracted you just walked across a room! Then later that day we went to visit some pediatric physical therapists for an off the charts evaluation. They thought everything looked normal. But said it all came down to the X-rays. So I wanted patiently for them to call with results and by the following thursday they hadn't called so I called them. We got in that day to hear the results. After hearing that your hip was normal you started waking all over the room. It was so fantastic! But then your wouldn't do it at home. Only around people. We went to Isla's birthday party last Saturday and you walked there a little bit. Then later that night we went to Emmy's party and you were like pro walker by then! You finally let daddy see you walk! We were all so proud!! You're just so stinking cute toddling around! And you look so happy and proud of yourself.
I love you to the moon and back baby!
Love,
Mommy
